|---|---|
| December to February | Driest and most comfortable. Peak season: book stays and drivers early. |
| March to May | Hot and humid on the coast, with pre-monsoon storms. Hills are a good escape. |
| June to September | Southwest monsoon: heavy rain, lush landscapes, fewer visitors. Traditional Ayurveda season. Some treks and boat trips pause. |
| October and November | Northeast monsoon: afternoon showers, clearing weather. Theyyam season in the north begins. |
