Vagamon is a hill area on the border of Idukki and Kottayam districts, known for its rounded grassy meadows, pine plantations and tea gardens. It has far fewer visitors than the larger hill stations and is often chosen for walks, picnics and paragliding in season.
Best known for

- Pine forest
- Tea gardens
- Paragliding in season
Beyond the usual
- Walk the meadows early in the morning
- Combine with a stay in Kumarakom or Thekkady
Why it's worth the detour: Its meadows and pine forests offer hill-country walks with fewer visitors than the larger hill stations.
